Si:zen is formulated without bicarbonate of soda and instead uses magnesium-based ingredients, which are known to be gentler while still effectively neutralising odour.
Our formula was developed over 3.5 years and tested with real women — including those with sensitive skin and those who had experienced irritation from other natural deodorants — to ensure it feels comfortable, non-irritating and reliable for everyday use.
We also continue to refine our products based on ongoing customer feedback from people with sensitive skin.
As with any product, we recommend patch testing if you have particularly sensitive skin.
Our original 45g deodorant packaging was made from cardboard because we wanted to create a more environmentally conscious option from the beginning.
As we continued testing and growing, we received consistent feedback from customers that they wanted packaging that felt more durable, reliable and better suited to everyday use — especially for handbags, travel and warmer conditions.
We also found that the cardboard packaging didn’t consistently hold up with our formula over time and created performance issues we weren’t comfortable compromising on.
For that reason, we made the decision to move to a more durable packaging format while we continue working towards a better long-term solution.
Sustainability remains incredibly important to us, and we’re actively exploring compostable and lower-impact packaging alternatives. We’re currently in discussions with suppliers about developing a compostable option, however many manufacturers require very large minimum order quantities — often around 200,000 units — which is not yet realistic for a growing independent brand like ours.
Rather than rushing into a solution that compromises product performance or user experience, we’ve chosen to be transparent about where we are in the process and continue improving as we grow.
Our goal is to create products that are effective, thoughtful and more sustainable over time — and we’re committed to evolving responsibly as Si:zen grows.
Yes — our formulas are specifically designed for sensitive skin.
Si:zen is an aluminium-free natural deodorant made without harsh chemicals, using a small number of carefully selected ingredients to minimise irritation and support skin health.
We include gentle, skin-supportive ingredients like magnesium, Vitamin E and plant-based oils to help soothe the underarm area while still providing effective odour protection.
Because every body is different, we always recommend patch testing first — but our focus is on creating a formula that feels comfortable, balanced and easy to use every day.
No — our current formula is not vegan, as it contains beeswax.
While most of our ingredients are plant-based, we chose to include beeswax after extensive testing because it significantly improves the texture, glide and overall comfort on sensitive skin.
Beeswax helps create a smooth application, supports the skin’s natural barrier and reduces irritation — which was especially important for delivering a natural deodorant that actually works in real, everyday use.
We’re committed to transparency in our ingredients and formulation choices. As Si:zen grows, we’re open to exploring a vegan option in the future, guided by performance and community feedback.
With daily use, our 45g natural deodorant typically lasts around 2–3 months.
Because the formula is concentrated, only 1–2 light swipes per underarm are usually enough for all-day odour protection — meaning a little goes a long way.
How long it lasts can vary depending on usage, activity levels and personal preference, but most people find it lasts longer than expected with consistent use.
No — and we want to correct this directly. Our current 75g packaging says "naturally derived fragrance," which is a labelling error on our part. We've fixed it for the next print run.
Our fragrance is a professionally compounded parfum, blended by an Australian fragrance house and certified compliant with IFRA (International Fragrance Association) safety standards. Like most parfum blends, it combines naturally-sourced aroma materials with synthetic aroma chemicals — this is standard practice across the industry and is what allows the scent to be stable, allergen-controlled and skin-safe. On our ingredient list it's correctly listed as "Parfum."
In line with allergen disclosure standards, our fragrance contains trace amounts of Limonene, Linalool, Citral, Citronellol and Geraniol — naturally occurring aroma compounds commonly found in citrus and plant oils, present at levels within IFRA safety limits.
